Dear Citizens:

Thank you for visiting my re-election website.  If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact me at any of the various opportunities that you will find listed on our Home Page.  I look forward to hearing from you.

As you take this time to get to know me, I will be sharing some of the results of my work with you. This is one of my favorite quotes, and it serves as a guidepost for me as I work:

“To attain excellence, you must care more than others think is wise,
risk more than others think is safe
and dream more than others think is practical.”

Public Servant

In my work I am constantly aware that I am a public servant.  I am honored by this opportunity, and I always strive to give my best to this community.  Your vote and your support will be greatly appreciated because I certainly would like to continue working for our wonderful community as your mayor.

Creating a list of “my accomplishments” for you to review has not been an easy task for me.  As the Mayor, I am one part of a tremendous team effort that brings forth a wide myriad of services for citizens and visitors to Bowling Green, Kentucky.

Team Effort

There is no “ I ” in TEAM…with that in mind I will share with you some aspects where I believe I have had an influence for positive things in our community.  Some of these positives occur from direct actions and others happen as a more indirect effect; some are the products of my work on consensus building and some are direct ideas that I have been able to impart into our systems.

Community Vitality

As you look around our community you can see and feel its vitality.  A fiscally sound local government is an enabler as well as a concrete foundation for much success within a community.  Excellence in our police and fire departments allow us to have a successful business community.  Successful businesses make for successful civic organizations and volunteerism.  Our excellent park system fosters happy and healthy kids…and parents!

Can I take credit for all the good things going on in our community?  Specifically and individually…….no, certainly not!  Collectively with our city staff and many active citizens in our area, Yes, I certainly can!

I am proud to stand with our community and say……..

"We do a good job and we have Success to show for it!"

My Three Cornerstones for Better Local Government

From my Inauguration Speech of January 2001, I extracted 3 key topics that I feel are the cornerstones of any local government’s commitment to its citizens.  I will categorize my work into these three areas for you.  They are:
